Grottbyn – Skånes Djurparks Camping

In the middle of Skåne, about 2 km north of the town of Höör, lies the unique Grottbyns Camping. A different kind of family campsite that is next door to Skåne Zoo. Here is a fabulous hostel as taken from the movie The Lord of the Rings with 12 different rooms divided into 64 beds of all sizes and standards. The hostel is designed as caves and looks like something you've never stayed in before. At Grottbyns Camping there are also 120 different plots with electricity for caravans, motorhomes and tents. There are also 4 modern 4-bed cabins for those who prefer it.

At the campsite there are two service houses with all kinds of facilities you need to make your stay a pleasant experience. Grottbyns Camping is open all year round and is run by the Eriksson family, all four of whom will do their best to ensure that you get value for your vacation.

At Grottbyns Camping, in addition to wandering around the fabulous hobbit houses, you can also find a variety of activities. The campsite has a pool that is very popular during the summer. For children there is a nice playground and access to a miniature golf course that is popular with the whole family. For you as a guest at Grottbyns Camping, it is also possible to rent a sauna if you wish.

At the campsite there is a nice kiosk where you can cool down with ice cream, soda, candy or why not a coffee to keep your energy up all day. In the evening there is the possibility to grill here either at the barbecue area in the area or in one of the small fireplaces available.

The location of Grottbyns Camping is also perfect for those who want to make different types of trips within Skåne. Many choose to park their caravan here and make various day trips in the area.

The biggest destination for Grottbyns Camping is undoubtedly Skånes Djurpark. Here there are over 800 Nordic animals from 70 different species. This makes Skånes Djurpark one of Sweden's largest zoos. There are adventures and activities for the whole family. Skånes Djurpark is open all year round and has several different highlights throughout the year. The zoo has restaurants that strive to serve locally produced and organic food. Close to Grottbyns Camping is Bosjökloster one of the three medieval nunneries in Skåne, Björkviksbadet which is an adventure pool and Fulltofta Naturcentrum which provides exhibitions about nature and also has fourteen different marked hiking trails for a few hours of hiking at the hiking area which is also located here.

The central location of Grottbyns Camping and its proximity to neighboring Denmark means that many people take a day trip to the capital Copenhagen. Walking trails, shopping, dining and sightseeing attract people from all over the world here and are definitely a must if time permits.

Grottbyns Camping is open all year round and has several fun promotions that take place throughout the year. The campsite has full service from mid-June to early August when the reception is open between 08.00 and 18.00. The Eriksson family is of course just a call away and also walks around the campsite during the day if questions or situations arise. As Grottbyns Camping is a family campsite, all guests must be 18 years old or accompanied by a parent or guardian. The connections to Grottbyns Camping are good and there are buses to the neighboring Skånes Djurpark all year round.
