Sjöstugan Myttinge

Sjöstugan Myttinge can be found in the Stockholm archipelago in Värmdö, which is located in the inner parts of the archipelago. Here you can live in a first-class archipelago idyll with 24,000 islands, islets and skerries and at the same time you have central Stockholm only 45 km by car from us. Here, magnificent nature and big city meet if you so wish.

We can offer cottages of very high standard with unbeatable sea views and Glamping tents for rent. Glamping is a more luxurious version of camping where there is plenty of space, room for a bed and more. If you are not familiar with glamping, we have pictures in the image gallery!

The Stockholm archipelago is unique in the world with its nature and history. Our cottage area is surrounded by this unique nature in all weather conditions.

It seems natural that Värmdö is full of fantastic hiking and cycling trails among nature areas and nature reserves. Among the more popular hiking trails, we can for example mention Ösbyrundan which runs 4.5 km in beautiful nature around Ösbyträsk, the tripartite lake at Gustavsberg. Most of the trail is easy to walk, but the paths are narrow and not stroller-friendly. Closest to the swimming pool, the trail is accessible for about one kilometer. In the western part there is an outdoor gym directly adjacent to the trail. There is also an information booklet that presents nature and culture along the trail. It should hardly be mentioned that the fishing opportunities are almost endless in the archipelago. Hemmesta Sjöäng is a popular destination for fishing pike, brown trout, roach and more.

Here we also have very nice mushroom areas during the fall season so do not forget to bring the mushroom basket!

If you want to get around the archipelago, it is simple and easy! All you have to do is jump on the Vaxholm boats that take you around. Stenslättens ferry terminal is about 600 meters from the cottage area.

If you want to explore the archipelago along the water on your own, we have canoes, kayaks and SUP boards for rent for 200 SEK per day.

The Stockholm archipelago is also packed with cultural and historical attractions. Some attractions that are in the immediate vicinity only a few kilometers from the cottage area:

Museum Vaxholm we would say is a must visit if you visit Värmdö. The museum can tell a 500-year history of its role in Sweden's defense.

Björnö nature reserve is another must if you visit Värmdö regardless of the season.

For those interested in history, there is Säby Gravfält with about 150 graves from the Iron Age.

With its proximity to Stockholm, you can easily get there and take in everything Sweden's proud capital has to offer. A visit to the Royal Palace, the Opera or the Natural History Museum is just one of the many things to see and do.
