Öje Ogströmmens Camping

Öje Turistgård is located in western Dalarna with the magical Ogströmmen lake right next to the campsite. Our campsite with hostel is located in Öje, a small idyllic town between Mora and Malung. Here you have all the best Dalarna has to offer just a stone's throw away. The hostel is also open all year round so you are welcome to experience Dalarna with us in any season.

The hostel has a total of 35 beds with 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-bed rooms. The hostel is consistently in good and fresh condition!

You will also find:

• Shower and WC adjacent to the rooms

We also have pitches with or without electricity, and a camping site.

Inside the area you will find our popular restaurant Vita Älgen, which is named after the white moose that was shot in Öje on October 16, 1996. In the restaurant we serve the dish of the day and à la carte prepared with good fresh ingredients. Lunch is offered every day with a gluten-free option. In addition to Easter and Christmas table, we also regularly organize pub nights with troubadours. The restaurant has full rights.

We also have a marina in the area and large areas for playing kubb and other things!

Outside Öje Ogströmmens Camping is simply a dream for outdoor activities and you can hardly wish for a better landscape.

For those who want to hike, there are about 50 km of hiking trails in Öje, where perhaps the most popular is the one that takes you to the Gnupens nature reserve where you go through 4 km of untouched forest. Finally, you will find yourself 657 meters above sea level and with good weather you can see all the way to Mora 52 km away.

There are also miles and miles of cycling trails that are best suited for mountain biking. Most of the roads run along Ogströmmen and with a little luck you can see both moose and bear.

Öje Ogströmmens Camping offers a 9 km long fishing stretch that is largely untouched nature and without huts and other rest areas. In Ogströmmen it is mainly grayling and trout you can fish for. In Öjensjön, which is also located right next to the campsite, it is mainly Perch and Pike you can fish for. Fishing licenses can be purchased at Restaurant Vita Älgen and the reception.

We also have canoe rental. Here you can either paddle on Öjensjön or paddle along Ogströmmen. For the experienced paddler, there is a route that is 70 km long and has Vansbro as its final destination.

During the winter months, we plow up tracks on Öjensjön for skiing and skating. There are many bays and islands to explore even in winter!

In the immediate vicinity is also Vålberget where you will find a sheep farm from the 1600s with a nice view of Öjesjön. The distance to the herd is about 7 km long.

There is also Öje Chapel from 1830, Gallery Öje and more! Feel free to ask us for more tips and hidden gems. Don't forget to also visit the several smaller towns that we have here. Each town has its own unique story to tell.

The nearest major town is Malung, about 17 km from the campsite. Öje Ogströmmens Camping is located next to Europaväg E45.
