Särna Camping

Särna Camping is one of the most beautiful campsites in Dalarna. No less than three years in a row, several major magazines have named the campsite as one of the best campsites in the country. The campsite is located in northern Dalarna and is centrally located in Särna village with a magical view of Vedungsfjällen and Städjan.

Särna Camping offers over 140 beautiful camping pitches, 56 of which have electricity. There you can park your caravan, motorhome or pitch your tent. The campsite has a total of 12 cabins that come in the sizes of 2-bed or 4-bed cabins - all with a view of the Österdalälven river and Städjan. All cabins have tables, chairs, refrigerators, hotplates, utensils, duvets and pillows. The cottages are located about 50 meters from the service house.

There are two top modern and fresh service houses on the campsite. Both are equipped with toilets, showers, changing tables and handicap accessible WC and shower. One of the two service houses also has access to a kitchen, laundry room and a cozy sauna that you can book as a guest at the campsite. There are two places for portable latrine tanks, one indoors and one outdoors. There is also a place for fixed tanks.

At Särna Camping you are close to swimming, nature, relaxation and fishing. This makes the campsite a favorite place that makes many people come back year after year. In the camping area there is a nice sandy beach with a jetty. The water is shallow and provides good swimming opportunities for people of all ages. Many people spend their summer days here sunbathing and swimming during the hot sunny summer days. The bathing area is often referred to as the Copacabana of the valleys. At Röda Ladan, located on the beach, coffee, drinks, ice cream and sweets are sold. If you want to take a trip on the lake, you can rent one of the canoes and boats. The fine fishing opportunities in the area are utilized by several guests who then choose to grill the catch in the evening. A barbecue is available in the area for guests to use.

The restaurant at Särna Camping serves breakfast, lunch buffet and À la carte. The restaurant has full rights and prepares the food with local ingredients and a lot of love. With a magical flavor palette and striking views of the Österdalälven river, this is a restaurant not to be missed!

If you choose to visit Särna Camping in the winter, there are plenty of activities to entertain yourself with, it is possible to rent snowmobiles, go skiing and go dog sledding. Many who come here are also here for the moose hunt that starts in September every year. There are also opportunities to hunt small game as the area is rich in forest birds, beavers, foxes and martens. Ask at the reception if you are interested in hearing more.

With its beautiful surroundings and proximity to the wilderness, many hikers visit Särna Camping every year. The Swedish mountain range starts here with Fulufjället on the west side and Vedugnen on the east side. In the north you will find Nipfjället and Städjan with its famous characteristic peak. The Swedish mountains offer everything from day trips that also suit children to hiking trails for the more experienced mountain visitors with the possibility of overnight stays and longer stays. The staff at Särna Camping know the area well and are happy to help you with guidance and tips.

Särna Camping is a year-round campsite with full service from late June to mid-August. The reception is open between 08:00 - 21:00 during this period. Särna Camping is adapted for the disabled. The entire area has access to WiFi. Dogs are welcome in all cabins and in the entire area.
